Best Ibiza Clubs for Over-30s and Over-40s
· Updated:
The best Ibiza clubs for over-30s and over-40s are Pikes, which only lets in over-27s, and its sister venue 528, plus Akasha at Las Dalias, Cova Santa, Lío and Chinois. All of them are smaller, dressier or more grown-up than the superclubs. And no, you're not too old: Ibiza Spotlight's guide for over-40s answers that question with a flat no. Here's where to go, when, and what to expect at each door.
Where the older crowd goes
| Venue | Why it suits | Door and age | Area |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pikes | Small hotel parties with unusual line-ups | Over-27s only, free guestlist | Outskirts of San Antonio |
| 528 | Pikes' sister venue; residents make up much of the crowd | Ticketed events | Benimussa hills, near San Antonio |
| Akasha (Las Dalias) | Intimate, sticks to its capacity, deep house | 18+, 25+ suggested | San Carlos, north |
| Cova Santa | Theatrical parties, a wide age range | Ticketed; restaurant above the dancefloor | Sant Josep |
| Lío | Dinner, cabaret show, then the club | Elegant dress code | Marina Ibiza |
| Chinois | Upscale boutique club, strong residents | Classy casual, long trousers for men | Marina Ibiza |
Pikes: the over-27s rule
Pikes is the obvious first stop. Its FAQ is clear: you must be over 27 to attend any Pikes event, with ID to prove it, and entry is free but only through the online guestlist, which opens two weeks before each date and lets you add yourself plus one. There are no walk-ins and no tickets on the door, and the door can turn away anyone in sportswear, flip-flops, swimwear or glitter, as well as stag and hen groups. Booking dinner at the restaurant includes the guestlist for that night, which makes dinner-then-party the easiest way in.

528: residents, old school and Pikes Presents
528, the open-air venue among the pines in the Benimussa hills, is Pikes' sister venue. Ibiza Spotlight's over-40s guide says its Tuesday and Saturday gatherings have won island recognition, with old-school and legendary names on the bill and island residents making up much of the older crowd. Its 2026 programme included Pikes Presents on Tuesdays, Slip Back In Time's Old Skool Ibiza, SHINE and Manumission. Its last date this year is Pikes Presents: Halloween on 31 October.

Akasha and Cova Santa: smaller rooms, open-air starts
Up north near San Carlos, Akasha and the Las Dalias garden are, in Spotlight's words, authentic, open-hearted and intimate, and they stick to their capacity, so you're not fighting for space. The music is deep and melodic house, parties often start in the garden in the afternoon, and the club is strictly 18+ with 25+ suggested. It's also the one venue on this list that keeps going in winter. Cova Santa, in Sant Josep, puts on theatrical parties in a setting above an ancient cave surrounded by pine-covered hills, and Spotlight notes it draws a wide age range. Book the restaurant on a party night to watch the dancefloor from above.

Lío and Chinois: dinner first, then dancing
If your ideal night starts at a table, the Ibiza Town marina has two options. Lío combines Mediterranean dining and a cabaret show, then turns into a club that goes on into the early hours, with an elegant dress code (no shorts, flip-flops, beachwear or men's vests). Chinois, a few steps away, is an upscale boutique club with a 1920s Shanghai look and serious residents, and asks for long trousers for men. Pacha is a short walk from both, and its FAQ says diners at its restaurant are invited into the club, subject to a minimum spend that varies by night.

When to go
Spotlight's advice for over-40s is to avoid July and August, the hottest and busiest months and the most popular with younger crowds, and to aim for May, June or September, when there's more room on the dancefloor. It also points to the old-school weeks: in 2025 May had events like Groove Odyssey, Slip Back in Time and One More Time, July had Clockwork Orange's week, and September brought Trance Week with the Kevin & Perry Experience, SHINE and Godskitchen. Check the 2027 dates when they're announced.
What to wear and where to stay
Spotlight's rule of thumb: comfortable but put-together, no sportswear and no football shirts. Trainers and shorts are generally fine with a general admission ticket, but long trousers are a must for VIP, and Lío and Chinois want trousers either way. Swimwear belongs at the pool parties only. For a base, Spotlight describes San Antonio as having a multi-aged crowd, Playa d'en Bossa as the place to fall out of bed into a club, Ibiza Town as the cosmopolitan option close to everything, and Santa Eulalia as quiet and laid-back, about 20 minutes' drive from Ibiza Town.
