Best Time to Go to Ibiza for Clubbing: The Season Month by Month

· Updated:

The best time to go to Ibiza for clubbing is June or September: every weekly party is running, but the dancefloors are less packed than in July and August. The full season runs from the last weekend of April to mid-October. In 2026 the superclubs opened between 24 April and 9 May and closed between 9 and 12 October. Choose opening week or closing weekend for the biggest one-off parties, July and August for the busiest island, and winter only if you're happy with Akasha and Pacha's New Year's Eve.

Late April and May: openings and space to dance

The season starts with a bang. At the end of April the International Music Summit brings the industry to the island, and several big clubs hold their opening parties the same weekend; in 2026 Pacha, Eden, Hï, Ushuaïa and DC10 all opened between 24 and 27 April, and Amnesia followed on 9 May. Ibiza Spotlight calls early May an optimal time to visit, with the rest of the clubs opening and the first residencies under way. The downside: the full Discobus service only starts at the end of May, so budget for taxis.

June: the full programme without the crush

By mid-June every major weekly party has started, and Ibiza Spotlight recommends it for fewer people and cheaper hotels than high summer. It's also the month of Ibiza Gay Pride. Spotlight's guide for older clubbers makes the same point: May, June and September are the months with more legroom on the dancefloor. If you want to see the summer residencies at their best, this is the month we'd pick.

July and August: peak everything

Temperatures hit 30°C, the clubs are packed, the roads busy and the beaches crowded, and August is the busiest month of the year. Spotlight also notes that these are the months most popular with younger crowds. It's when the biggest names are all on the island at once, but it's also when tickets, tables and rooms cost most. Book early and expect queues for taxis at closing time.

September: the clubbers' favourite

Ibiza Spotlight puts it simply: for many clubbers September is their favourite month, with plenty of parties and top DJs still going, but less packed dancefloors and cooler temperatures. Towards the end of the month the weekly residencies start holding their closing parties, so you get a run of last nights. The Ibiza Rocks pool parties ran until 30 September in 2026.

October: the closings, then the small clubs

The superclubs close in the second week: in 2026, Hï on 9 October, Ushuaïa, [UNVRS] and Amnesia on the 10th, Pacha on the 11th and DC10 on the 12th. That closing weekend is one of the biggest of the year. After it, the island quietens but doesn't stop: Es Paradis, Chinois and Akasha carry on, and the Halloween parties at the end of the month are, in Spotlight's words, the unofficial end of the season.

Winter: Akasha and New Year's Eve

From November to March most clubs are shut. Akasha, inside Las Dalias, runs weekend parties through the off-season (with a break in mid-winter: last year it reopened on 7 February), and Pacha opens for one night on New Year's Eve. Easter 2027 falls on 28 March, before the usual openings, so don't plan a clubbing trip around it unless a club confirms dates.

How to choose

  • First time and want the full experience: June or September.
  • You want the opening or closing party of a specific club: late April to early May, or the second week of October.
  • You want the biggest names and don't mind crowds: July and August.
  • On a budget: the shoulder months (April to June, September, October) usually mean cheaper flights and rooms.
  • You only have a winter window: Akasha at weekends and Pacha's New Year's Eve.
