Ibiza Club Dress Code: What to Wear, Club by Club
Ibiza is more relaxed about clothes than Madrid, London or Marbella, but "relaxed" isn't the same as "anything goes", and the rules change a lot from a daytime open-air club to a dinner-show venue in the marina. Below is what each club actually publishes, with the source behind it. Where a club doesn't publish a dress code, we say so instead of inventing one.
The quick table
| Club | What they say | In practice |
|---|---|---|
| Ushuaïa | No flip-flops, tank tops or swimwear; no sports team merch or offensive slogans | Summer clothes, closed or proper sandals, small bag |
| Pacha | Glam but casual is fine; long trousers for men in VIP | Smart-casual; trousers if you have a table |
| Lío | Elegant; no beachwear, shorts, flip-flops, bare torsos or men's vests | Dress for dinner |
| Chinois | Classy casual; long trousers for men; no sportswear or open shoes | Shirt, trousers, proper shoes |
| Es Paradis (Fiesta del Agua) | Swimwear under your clothes; arriving only in swimwear can get you refused | Clothes you don't mind getting wet |
| DC10 | "Come as you are" | Comfortable, it's a long afternoon and night |
| O Beach, Ibiza Rocks | Beachwear welcome | Pool-party clothes |
| Destino Five | More conservative dress expected | Resort-smart |
Ushuaïa: the most specific list
Ushuaïa is the club with the clearest written rules, which makes sense for a venue full of people coming straight from the beach. Its FAQ asks guests not to wear flip-flops, tank tops or swimwear, and bans sports team merchandise and any ideological clothing that may cause offence. Bags bigger than a standard handbag aren't allowed either. Ibiza Spotlight adds that the dress expected here is more conservative than at most Playa d'en Bossa spots.

Pacha, Lío and Chinois: the dressier side of town
Ibiza Town is where you dress up. Ibiza Spotlight describes Pacha as glam, though casual is fine, with one firm rule: men with VIP need long trousers. Lío goes furthest: its own site asks for an elegant dress code and lists beach clothes, swimsuits, shorts, beach sandals, flip-flops, Birkenstocks, bare torsos and men's vests as not allowed. Chinois asks for classy casual, long trousers for men, and no sportswear or open shoes.

Es Paradis: the one night you will get wet
At the Fiesta del Agua the main dancefloor floods with water jets while the rest of the club stays dry. Ibiza Spotlight's advice is to wear swimwear under your normal clothes, and it warns that turning up in only swimwear can get you refused at the door. Leave your good shoes at the hotel and keep your phone in a sealed bag.

Destino Five: resort rules
Destino Five, the Pacha group's adult resort at Cap Martinet near Talamanca, hosts big-name poolside parties and has a tiny club, TOX, for guests and invitees. Ibiza Spotlight says the dress expected is more conservative than at a typical pool party, so think resort-smart rather than beachwear. It also runs a free shuttle to Pacha, which makes it an easy first stop before a night in town.
DC10 and the clubs that don't publish rules
DC10's attitude, in Ibiza Spotlight's words, is "come as you are": it is a long, hot, open day-into-night party and comfort wins. We didn't find a published dress code on the websites of Hï, [UNVRS], Amnesia or Eden. That doesn't mean a door won't turn someone away, so the safe default for any big club is the Ushuaïa list: no flip-flops, no swimwear, no football shirts, a small bag.

Day clubs and pool parties
By day the rules relax. Ibiza Spotlight says beachwear is welcome at O Beach and at the Ibiza Rocks pool parties in San Antonio, which is the one setting where swimwear is the normal dress. The catch is the switch: if you are going from a pool party straight to Ushuaïa, Pacha or Lío, bring a change of clothes, because none of them will let you in dressed for the pool.

What to carry
- A small bag: Ushuaïa refuses anything bigger than a standard handbag.
- Original ID, not a photo of it.
- Your ticket saved to your phone's wallet, with enough battery to show it at the door.
- For the water party, a waterproof pouch for your phone.
Quick answers
- Can men wear shorts? Not at Lío, and Chinois asks for long trousers; at Pacha, long trousers are required in VIP. Ushuaïa's published list doesn't mention shorts.
- Are flip-flops ever OK? At pool parties, yes. At Ushuaïa and Lío, no.
- Can I wear a football shirt? Not at Ushuaïa, which bans sports team merchandise.
- Do I need heels or a suit? No club in this guide asks for that. Lío is the dressiest.
Age and ID: the rule that matters more than clothes
- Ushuaïa: 18+, original photo ID required; under-18s refused even with a parent.
- Pacha: 18+.
- Akasha: strictly 18+, with 25+ suggested; large groups of 18–24-year-olds may be turned away.
- Pikes: known for an over-27s door.
Carry your passport or national ID card, not a photo of it. If you're booking a table, dress one level up from the general crowd; it never hurts at the door. And if you're unsure about a specific night, ask us before you go.
