SWAG Ibiza guide: hip hop, R&B and reggaeton in Playa d'en Bossa

Ibiza is built on house and techno, but plenty of people on the island would rather hear hip hop, R&B or reggaeton. For them, the answer in Playa d'en Bossa is SWAG. Here's what the club is like, when it opens and how to make a night of it.

Ibiza's urban music club

SWAG has been open since 2014 in the heart of Playa d'en Bossa, on Carrer de la Murtra, next to the Hotel Garbi. The music is urban: rap, trap, R&B, hip hop and reggaeton, depending on the night, and some listings also mention live concerts. Ibiza Spotlight describes it as a swanky club that's popular with locals, which tells you it isn't only a holiday stop.

Inside

Welcome to Ibiza describes two dancefloors, three VIP areas and a DJ booth set up for back-to-back sessions. Capacity figures vary: around 1,000 in one listing, 750 in another. Either way, it's a mid-sized club, big enough for a proper night but far from superclub scale. Table and bottle service is a big part of how people use the room.

When it's open

According to Welcome to Ibiza, SWAG opens seven days a week in summer and hosts some weekend parties in winter. The hours listed run from around midnight to about 06:30. We couldn't find a published 2026 programme with dates, so check with us before heading out, especially outside summer.

Tables and bottle service

With three VIP areas, SWAG is one of the easier clubs on the island for a birthday or a group that wants its own space without paying superclub table prices. Minimum spends aren't published. Send us the date, how many you are and what you're celebrating on WhatsApp, and we'll come back with the options for that night.

Dress code and getting there

SWAG doesn't publish a dress code. Dress up a little, as you would for a hip hop club in any city, and bring photo ID (18+). It's in the middle of Playa d'en Bossa, so if you're staying in the area you can walk; from Ibiza Town it's a short taxi ride.

How it fits into a Playa d'en Bossa night

Playa d'en Bossa is also home to Ushuaïa and Hï. A popular mix for groups with different tastes is an afternoon at Ushuaïa, which finishes at 23:00, followed by SWAG for those who'd rather hear hip hop than another house set. Because SWAG opens late, the timing works well.

Who SWAG suits

SWAG suits anyone who wants a break from electronic music for a night, groups celebrating something who want a table, and people who like a club with a local crowd. It isn't the place for big-name DJs or a production show; it's a club night built around urban music and bottle service.

Quick tips

  • Confirm the club is open on your date before you go, especially outside July and August.
  • Book a table ahead for birthdays and bigger groups.
  • Arrive after midnight; it's a late club.
  • Dress a little smarter than you would for a beach bar.
  • Plan your return: if you're not staying in Playa d'en Bossa, sort the taxi early.

For 2027, expect SWAG to follow its usual pattern of nightly opening in summer. We'll update our SWAG page when the new season's nights are confirmed.

If your group is split between house fans and hip hop fans, SWAG is often the compromise that keeps everyone in the same area of the island for the night.

Bring photo ID and, if you're booking a table, the name the reservation is under.
